Did you know that flowers have been scientifically proven to support our emotional and physical wellness? A study conducted by the University of North Florida’s Department of Public Health tells us just how much it not only can reduce stress but can also increase productivity and feelings of connection.

While we believe no one needs to have an “excuse” or “occasion” to send flowers to another or to oneself knowing these benefits—it does seem that there are times the significance of flowers is a bit more apparent. According to the study, 68% of individuals reported experiencing stress on a weekly basis and 32% felt stress daily. One can only guess how much these numbers have jumped with the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Of course while I can’t offer an immediate cure for this virus and snap my fingers to stop the spread, I can offer a simple way to bring you some peace during this turbulent time. Waking up to flowers on your nightstand, glancing at them during a phone call or in the middle of email, or walking past them on your way through the kitchen can boost your mood immediately. Take the time to arrange and send photographs to your friends and family and you’ll have increased the joy exponentially! If you have kids at home, imagine what a fun experience you’d have together, creating positive, lasting memories amidst a frightening time.

Flowers–simple, beautiful, yet oh-so-significant flowers can increase happiness, workplace productivity, decrease worry and anxiety, and more! To see all the research on health benefits of flowers, go here, and then get yourself (and your loved ones) some flowers, here!

It’s an honor and our privilege to help spread Aloha during this global crisis. As a small, family-owned and operated business, this is a time of great anxiety and fear for us, too. But, being able to harvest for and create your floral gifts, helps to ground us and provide us with some peace and calm as well. For that we offer our deepest gratitude to you–mahalo nui loa!

With warmest Aloha,

Emily
